    Feldpost number? Help please....

    Is there a kind member out there who could help identify Feldpost number 04120.
    This is on a letter addressed to a soldier on 27/7/1942.
    Subsequently the envelope has been returned with the following written in Red pencil: "Return to sender, addressee killed in action for Greater Germany"
    I have never opened this personal document, which came with a Deathcard.
    The Deathcard states that the soldier is buried near WORONESCH.

      (Mobilmachung-1.1.1940) Regimentsstab Infanterie-Regiment 217,

      (1.8.1943-23.3.1944) 3.2.1944 Regimentsstab Grenadier-Regiment 217,

      (24.3.1944-6.11.1944) 7.9.1944 gestrichen.

        Many thanks for the info.....could this Feldpost number have been used by a different unit in July 1942 when the letter was addressed?

          Hi Ray, I don't think so?

          It was used in 1942 by Regimentsstab Infanterie-Regiment 217.
