    Uffz. Georg Mondry

    hello,

    I am looking for more info about service in Luftwaffe of Uffz. Georg Mondry.
    all that I know is that he serve in JG26 7th staffel until 31 may 1943, this day he was KIA .
    I would like to know any other unit in which he serve and the number of air victories that he have or any other info if is possible to obtain.

    7/JG26 (as of 16/2/41-5/4/42), 5/JG26 ?-31/5/43

    KIA 31/5/43 by Spitfire(s) or 403 RCAF Sqn or 421 RCAF Sqn. At the time of his death he was a Lt and was flying FW190A-5 (7303; Black 14+)

    3 Claims: 2 confirmed, 1 not confirmed

    Claim; Date; Type (Opponent); Location; Time; Confirmed

    1st; 16/2/41; Hurricane (261 Sqn); 10 km S. Valetta; 10:42; Yes
    2nd; 26/2/41; Hurricane (261 Sqn); Kalafrana Bay, Malta; 14:10; Yes
    3rd; 30/6/41; Hurricane (1 SAAF Sqn); Libya; no time; No

      Thank you very much for this great info
      I didnt know about his 3 air victories but I thought that he have acomplished more than 3 beacuse he was awarded with EKI so I thought that he must have at least 5 or more air victories.

      where do you find this info?

        Hi Humberto,

        Info came from "The JG26 War Diary Vol I+II" by Don Caldwell, an excellent unit history.

        Regards the EKI as far as I'm aware there was no mandatory level of kills to qualify for the award, though I believe that approximately 3 kills was normal for a fighter pilot.
