Does anyone have any information on Army Major Hilgemann. He is A German Cross in Gold and KC winner. Award dates, Units served with,Military Career,also a Photo would be great.

Thanks for the reply. Don't know if this is him or not. His tunic and overcoat are wearing White piped Majors Boards. Couldn't read 1st letter on name tag. He has cloth German Cross in Gold Sewn on tunic and robbon with snaps that goes under coller for KC. The kids remember playing with the medal but don't know where it is now.

Well he is Infantry which is white Waffenfarbe and he is the only Ritterkreuzträger with that surname so I think that is him......

He won both RK and EL.

The US National Archives in DC will more than likely have his complete service record on fiche. You have to actually go there to do the research though...
