    identify the plane ?

    Hello,


    Here is a picture I have from a glider pilot estate, is there anyone who can identify this plane ?

    ps : the pilot was not that good in flying it seems

    This is a tschech one....,A Avia 534 or so was by the germans captured....

      Identify the plane

      Vielen dank fur diesen Info => ich have found for what the tactical sign ( the castle tower ) stands : FFS A/B 23 " Kaufbeuren " : FFS abbrevation for Flugzeugfuhrerschule .

      Is there anyone who can give more details about this FFS ?

        Flugzeugführerschule A/B 23

        Kommandeure:

        ObLt Werner Liebmann, 1.9.39 - 1.1.40
        Oberst Georg Vrbancic, 1.1.40 - 1943(?)
        Oberst Schanin, ? - ?
        ObLt Jahnke, ? - ?
        Formed 1.11.38 in Kaufbeuren (Schule/Flieger-Ausbildungs-Regiment 23). 11.39 to Jüterbog-Damm*, and 6.40 back to Kaufbeuren** (Höh.Fl.Ausb.Kdo. 13). On 15.10.43 redesignated Flugzeugführerschule A23. On 1.4.45 was used to form the 10. and 11. Fallschirm-Jäger-Divisions.

        Used the following aircraft: Ar 65, Ar 68, Ar 76, Ar 96, Benes Be.51, Bü 131, Bü 181, Ca 164, Fiat L3, Fw 44, Fw 58, Go 145, Grunau Baby, He 45, He 70, Kl 35, Kranich, Olympia, Praga E.39, Si 204 and W.34

        * satellite airfields: Reinsdorf

        ** satellite airfields: Kempten-Durach, Bad Wörishofen, Reichenbach and Krumbach (glider)

          Identify the plane

          Hello,


          Tommy => it is not the type of plane you describe ( Tsech Avia 534 ), the here shown plane is a German made one that was used and build as a training plane.

          This is namely a Heinkel He 45a

          And when we look into the nice list from the FFS A/B 23 then we can see that this tupe of aircraft was indeed used

          there where 512 of this type build during its existance .
