Hello !

A very nice photo, which is related to the expansion phase of the Wehrmacht.

In addition to Gerdan some background information :
During the times of the "100.000 Mann Heer", each of the 7 allowed Wehrnacht divisions had just one Pi.-Btl.
The 1. (preuss.) Pi.Btl. was at Königsberg, the 2. (preuss.) Pi.Btl. was at Stettin and so on.
When the (covered) expansion process of the Wehrmacht started, in 1934 each of those 7 Pi.Btls. was tripled.
Therefore, in October 1934, 3 Pi.Btls. were formed from elements of the "old" 2. Pi.-Btl. Stettin,
(now with "cover designations") :
- Pi.Btl. Stettin A (later became Pi. Btl. 2)
- Pi.Btl. Stettin B (later became Pi. Btl. 12)
- Pi.Btl. Sperenberg (later became Pi. Btl. 20)
