    My Christmas present

    Hello all,

Here's an honor goblet I picked up recently. Thank you to Brian H. for helping me put this into my collection.

    Honor goblet named to night fighter pilot Feldwebel (later Oberfeldwebel) Martin Kramer. Born November 21 1916. Stabstaffel/NJG-3 (Stade), flying Bf 110E & F4, Ju88C (11/43) & Ju88G-1 (7/44) Ju88G-6 Werk # 620551 "D5 + FA" (lost 1/1/45)
KIA January 1, 1945 in aerial combat 2km east of Liege, Belgium. Buried at the US cemetery at Fosse, near Bastogne, block 59, grave 513. Remaining crew (KIA) Oblt. Wolf Fuchs - R/O 59/505 & Ogefr. Heinrich Prinz - Flt. Engr. 59/514

Kramer was credited with 4 victories. All "4 Mots": two on 29 July, 1944 NW of Helgoland; one 17 August 1944 SE of Kiel and one 30 August 1944 in the Königsburg area.

hope you like it as much as I do. A lovely Alpaca piece for me.

    Hi William,

That is one beautiful Alpaka Honor Goblet!

I can understand that this one is extra special because of the name, but besides that you can be very happy that the condition and patina are so nice on this one.

    Well done! Enjoy

    Kind regards, Thomas

That is a stunning looking Ehrenpokal, no doubt about that!

This might be a daft question however, has this Pokal been cleaned at some point to achieve this patina? or is this the 'natural' look?

                      Regards Richard.

the piece has absolutely been polished at some point and you can see former residue in the upper bird's beak area and then in the talons on the lower bird. No idea when this was done but generally speaking the goblet has a nice and even layer of patina on it now.
