it reminds me of a Schickle or Petz & Lorenz design almost.

I have no problem with the center of the reverse being indented like that and have seen this feature on other period originals.

the catch on the one that started the thread is also very similar but the obverse is different for me. I still think it stands a chance..

Here is a Schickle with a similar reverse hinge and catch assembly and almost looks like it has an indented reverse center feature like the cross which started this thead:

I have no knowledge of this award, although I can say that this looks great from the front and not great from the back.

I think it is a good Otto Schickle. I've seen the backs o f these in different variations that I believe is due to the pressure exerted during the stamping process. This one just looks like it got an extra few lbs of pressure.


This one got some extra lbs but not as much.

I believe the P&L crosses have more of a square imprint, this looks round on the ones I am familiar with.
