      First of all the maker's mark. Deumer never produced Retired Pilots.

          For me, the problems are less with the L/11 mark (although it would be interesting to compare the mark with L/11 wartime marks) and more with the rest of the badge. First off we have the thin hinge normally seen on 57 type badges. Secondly, the eagle looks odd, head and chest proportions look strange. Third, very poor detail on the eagle, legs and claws have no serrations, and so forth. Lastly, the picture of the reverse showing the eagles head seems to show a casting seam in the middle of the side of the eagle, under his beak, which would be the total kiss of death.
          Looking for a 30 '06 Chauchat magazine.

            I can only agree with Jeff here, lots of red flags. On top of that, the L/11 mark does not match original Deumer products, so another red flag.
