Assman Observer and Pilot help Please

I have Sebs book, but I just wanted to run these badges by the members to verify
They look ok to me,,but I havent handled many in my career so I just wanted to see if anyone sharper than me, sees something I dont
We have an Assman Observer and a Pilot
    Thanks in advance!

just want to make sure there is no dipping wreath fake,,,I did a search and could not find any comparisons to an original Assman VS a dipping wreath,,what else to look for besides the obvious dip in the wreath?

I hear there are differences in leaf vein, detail,,but like I said,,not direct comparison or side by side

Both are fine original badges in good condition.
I wonder what happened to the right rivet of the observer.
Most likely the badge had a moving eagle and somebody tried to fix it breaking a small part of the rivet. Wacky eagles are very common to find on Assmann flight badges.

There are many variations of the dipping wreath fake. Some have many good casted eagle but this particular fake is well documented and should make no problem if you go deeper on the subject. Study the originals, so you can see what's wrong with a fake.

Thank you, not sure what you mean by "well documented" where?
not on this site,,that I could see,,2 pages of threads mentioning it,,and pics of dipping wreath fakes,,mostly poor old photos,,lacking detail,, a good side by side comparison would be nice

          Hi
Not necessarily, it can also be a factory "Defect"

Jacek ofcourse it's a factory defect but Assmann did not consider it that way, otherwise they would not allow these badges to leave the factory like that. I handled many Assmann badges with moving eagles, from mint to worn condition. Assmann had a sloppy rivetting technique, not like Deumer to name one. Many recipients (and collectors) tried fixing these eagles by hammering the rivets leaving tool marks, like you can see on the observer badge that started this thread. The moving eagle was already there when it left the factory, the tool mark to repair is later.

Wypall, with well documented i mean that the dipping wreath is one of the most common fakes and is around for many years. There is plenty information available about them.

Very nice original specially the pilot with the ? Catch. Very uncomon variant. The observer rivets is a factory defect as it is seen from time to time on assmann badges. Very nice. When you strike metal piece you have a percentage of defect damage that was rejected. They were not necessary destroy but most likely sells or given.

Seb please tell me what's so special about it is "A" PB badge. IMO this is pilot like an ordinary Assmann pilot, what's so special about it?
                  cheers; Jacek

? catch are uncomon and desirable to me. 98% of the Assmann have the C catch that one dosen't
