Are there any copies of the early Luftwaffen badges made of aluminum?

Hi Guys,

At the moment we have a discussion in the German SDA forum and a question has arisen in which it seems to go no further and I hope maybe someone can give us a hand.

Is anyone familiar with copies of the early awards of the Luftwaffe made of aluminum, apart from the "Fliegerschaftsabzeichen" copy from the mid80s?

Supposedly there should be older TOP copies but I've never heard of it before the discussion in the SDA Forum; maybe someone of you knows more.

Let us start you off with the various Assmann Air gunner badges that have turned up over the years...

The other, also marked 'DRGM', with a Juncker eagle...


And, of course, (not being an award as such...but shows that they are out there) the Assmann 'Large A' summer breast eagle (based on an original by W.Deumer) in aluminium...I know, don't shoot me...but do some comparisons.

Thanks for your answer and the link. I saw the thread already but if I understand Tom right, this copy was made of zinc, not of aluminium. So from my point of view it is not a TOP copy because easy to unmask because of it´s weight.

For me it´s important to know if any copies with a basic material of aluminium exists.
