    Unknown award in bullion

    Hi Guys

this one came in with a couple of bullion flight badges and other period Luft insignia. I have no doubt it is a period item but I have not seen it before- it appears to have been backed to wear as a badge- there is a slit to the reverse which may have had a pin mounting originally.

It is larger than a glider qualification badge, some kind of DLV award?

    Many thanks for any info!

    Best regards

    Patrick

It sort of looks like the Silver C award except with only one gull and the addition of a swastika.

thanks Guys, it's a good bit larger than the normal A-C glider awards.

A couple of people have mentioned that a similar badge is shown on page 420 of Angolia's Uniforms of the NSKK and NSFK- described as unidentified.

Perhaps if someone has a copy of that book they would be kind enough to post a shot of the image as unfortunately I don't own the book

          many thanks

So a HJ helper attached to the LW? Is that a breast eagle on his arm above the band??!

I think Jos found it.....now what the heck is it? I agree he is a member of the HJ.

Where did you find the picture, Jos? Is there a caption with it?

I posted this in the political section asking what the badge is and if anyone could id the unit the HJ member was in.
