Photo of a white DKiG in wear?

    Hello gentlemens,

I wonder about such a extem exotic badge as a white DKiG for the white summer uniform. Is there existing a photo on which a white DKiG on a uniform can be seen?

It is a cloth DKiG with a white background for the summer tunic. I have not personally seen a photo of one in wear.

      Best wishes

Knights Cross winner Von Oppeln-Bronikowski with a "white" German Cross in Gold on his black Panzer tunic. Looks quite sexy!

White or field grey that appears lighter against the black uniform? (Love the EKII clasp above his EKI)

I can't say for certain. I think I can see the silver outline of the star against the background fabric -- I wouldn't think that would be as clear on white fabric. Plus (and just my opinion), no self-respecting panzer veteran would go out of his way to find a white background DKiG to wear on his panzer jacket, when field grey DKiGs were likely far more easily sourced.

Any chance of an enlargement of the award?

I don't think it is a question of a large photo but rather a question of color. Sometimes the quality of a screen plays a role, too.
I am convinced it is white and if others think it is fieldgrey it is fine with me, too. I can't see that it could be fieldgrey.

Dietrich, your black & white photos do help make your case for a white DKiG in the period photo. I still lean towards field grey, but as we all know, anything was possible during wartime.
