    Well...yes the details do not match an original...but nevertheless this is quite an effort at designing a repro badge from scratch...if they had followed the details of the original..IE cutout when looked at from reverse, gun assembly, eagle, wreath etc from the front..used zinc (and perhaps not made the ball hinge too large..the reverse dip too deep/obvious..IE it is nothing like you would expect)...and released say one badge every two months would it be so easy then to dismiss the piece is my point.

      I'm late to this thread but I agree with Frank's assessment - genuine badge with probably replaced eagle. The eagle doesn't look too bad and may be from another type of genuine badge. I haven't pulled out my examples for comparison.

      Sasha, truct Frank on this one, your AS ball-hinge is a bad badge. Notice in the African Hero's description that he does not state it is genuine - only described it and asks a lot of money for it.

      As an aside, imo it is interesting that this AS fake and the "Wilhelm" AuxCr badges have a similar type of sharp-edged semi-hollow reverse.
