    Erdkampfabzeichen

    Hi guys,

this badge was posted to me from a friend.

It is his badge and he asked me if i can post the badge here in WAF.

For me it is a uncommon badge, but i like it.

What´s your opinion about the badge?

    Regards
    Joe

          thanks for your answer.

Why do you think the piece is a copy?

Well I will start with the hinge, definately a repair, This kind of pin is not used by Osang erd but again it could be a repair, very hard to say with these pictures, Osang usually have a nice round flat rivet and this one is not what I would except but again it could be a repair. The eagle look soft specially at the leg and tail and the cut off of the swas and another point its the fact that it is unmarked. I tried to find one in my files and online and I didn't find any. (dosen't mean they not exist) IMO a good repro but a heavily repair original badge could also be the answer.

              Hello Seb,

thanks for your statement. This piece belongs to me.

But I dont think the piece is a copy. I hope my English is good enough to explain my position.

For me the piece at itself (the zinc body)is a typical Juncker Design. For example the cutouts are typical as shown from many Juncker pieces. Also at the End of the lightning the piece has the typical Juncker cut inside of the flash. Also the piece has at the bottom of the wings from the eagle typical shear brands that I have seen at many Juncker pieces.

The pin, catch and hinge are similar to Steinhauer and Lück pieces (not at GAB, but for example I think at the Panzer Assault Badge).

The attached eagle is not a typical eagle, as we can see it from Juncker. But I think it is the same as with the catch and hinge. These parts were purchase parts.

You can see a piece like that in LGAB Book from Weber on Page 66 (Piece 1.13)

              Only the Eagle is different.

Maybe the catch is repaired, that I dont know. But for me the piece is from an unknown maker. (Whole parts were purchased and put together)

I hope my statement was clear to understand. Sorry for my bad english

Thank you again for your statement

                Interesting LWGAB.

As you say only the eagle on your badge are different compare to the badge shown in the book at page 66-67.

This type of LWGAB are not often seen and if it should be a copy more of them should be around I think.
