Hey guys, just got this one in the mail from a WAF member and I wanted to show it off.
I great looking double A marked ASSMANN flak. Marked on the reverse and on the wing of the eagle. The eagle is most definitely repaired as you can see much solder to the eagle and wreath which also appears to "bleed" on to the hinge. The catch may also have been replaced/repaired.
What I like the most about this badge is the "gold" tone that appears on the badge. It's on both the front and back and at first I thought it was the original lacquer that gave it it's tone but the more I look it over I feel the veteran may have been a heavy smoker and this could be from years on smoking in his house.
At any rate I like the badge and will ad a different variation to the collection.
Thanks for looking and like always if you'd like to leave your opinion that would be great.
