Para badge opinions please

I have had this since the mid 80's and dug it out the other day. I wondered if it is an original, or put together parts, or fake. I saw some things like it in the different makers pictures section, but I just can't tell if it is 1st pattern, second pattern, fake, or what. Opinions would be appreciated.
