Any opinions on this Westfront Badge appreciated.
It was originally part of a Afrikakorps Flak grouping. What was the badge awarded for? What is missing to the top?

Westfront Badge

Hi Klaus!

Attached Pictures show a complete Westfront badge next to a Pilots Badge.
The missing part of the badge you posted is a silver made "cat on the roof of a house".

The FLL Pilots Badge and the Westfront badge together came out of a honest heritage of a WWII Luftwaffe pilot, from an estate in my hometown in Lower Austria.

I read comments about that kind of badge in another forum and......of course everybody immediately believes it is a fantasy fake.
I do not share this opinion, I believe it is wartime, small series production, maybe a locally made souvenir (like many other "Kantinen" stuff like unit rings, Westwall rings,...)
I also believe it has been never an official issued award.
The quality is excellent, the Westfront letters are even hand smoothened and polished.
