    LW Pilot Badge Question

    While looking through the selection of an online dealer I ran across a pilots badge that seemed very odd to me.

    The odd point was the manufacturer's mark. A Junker logo was stamped centered on the back of the eagle. Stamped over top of it was the IMME logo. Has anyone seen anything like this before? How common was it?

    Your help in expanding my education is appreciated.

    Hi Tim, is it possible to get a picture of the piece in question, as this would be a first for me, to see a double struck Maker Mark.

        The item number it #2355 in the Luftwaffe section.

        "Flugzeugfuhrerabzeichen, Bluntmetall, Herst: Juncker/IMME..."

        The 5th picture shows the manufacturer's markings.

          Isn´t it sad and a bit suspicious to offer a "service for collectors", a picture archive, that does not allow to save these pictures by right clicking on them? Annoying at least.

            Double stamp

            I have been looking at Pilot awards very closely in the last year, and have seen quite a few, many not original, but I've yet to see one double stamped, and not even seen any in books! Yet another thing to look for!

              I save many pictures for reference and have also came across this annoying problem of when you right click on a picture it brings up an error message. I have found if you click with the left button and drag on the picture to your desktop it will create a copy of the picture on your desktop, free of any annoying messages. I can clearly see why website admins do this, however I would prefer if they just stuck their name down the bottom, or somewhere else on the picture, as saving pics for reference is a very valuable tool.

                  Try emailing them to yourselve.I tried to save some pics from the collectors guild but got a message saying"photos remain property of the collectors guild"I simply used the email option which is a choice included with the "save pic as" option.

                    here is another way

                    If you are a windows user, to save "no right click allowed" pictures, do this.

                    use the "print screen" button on your keyboard

                    (this saves it to a clipboard)

                    go to Microsoft Paint (on every machine running windows)

                    >Start>Programs>Accessories>Paint

                    click on the EDIT drop down menu.

                    Click on PASTE

                    The webpage you wanted to save should appear.

                    From here you can do what you want, I use the square selection and crop the pictureand copy and paste it to New page, then save it.
                    Make sure what ever you want to save is in the center of your screen, as off screen items wont be saved (i.e. Print SCREEN) the paint program might crop off all that doesnt fit on the new image canvass as well.

                    And if that doesnt work for you, I have a "screen capture" program I can email to you.

                      So I take it no one has encountered this situation before.

                      Here is another question, using the same or similar badges as examples. If you look carefully at the back of the badge the right wing appears to be cracked at the narrowest point just above the eagle's body. Was this very common? Was it a simple flaw with the badge design itself?

                        An easier way to get these pictures is by dragging them from the browser onto your desktop (or any folder you choose).

                          Now that was a great a great thread, two for one. Learned
                          something about that #50 and some savvy computer tricks. I hate when I want to copy and they put that F$&$#@ block on. All that and more on Whermact awards.

                              Now that the technical issue of grabbing screen shots has been well and truely covered.... what about this pilots badge?

                              From what I remember of it (I haven't looked at it recently), it looks like a genuine Juncker pilots badge to me. We know Juncker and Imme used the same parts for luftwaffe badges so it's not inconceivable that Imme might have taken components from Juncker which were already marked and over stamped it to show their logo.

                              Any opinions?
