    Assmann Pilot Badge.

I would appreciate opinions on the above on behalf of a potential buyer, he has expressed concern over a small hole? in the left wing backplate. any other observations welcomed.
    See link below.

    Thanks.

The badge looks authentic but in really bad shape. The finish is almost gone and the eagle is bent out of shape. The rivets look like they have been tightened and still they are out of place.

Not one for me, your friend should save £800 and buy a nice minty example of what is a common badge

Nothing wrong at all with that Pilot Badge! Nice original Assmann in nicely worn condition. Actually, there is alot of finish remaining, but nicely worn on the highlights. And the rivets are completely unmessed with, textbook Assmann spun rivets. They have not been tightened up at all! Hardware is also textbook.

Nice worn original that clearly saw its share of the action.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Thanks to all who contributed their knowledge and experience, some more than others. I bought this badge, from a highly recommended dealer on this forum, and was surprised at the first review but it was written at 4.a.m. so that may explain it.

To me that is a really attractive and honest badge.

While not perfect it is wonderful. I am glad you have a buyer, it was a temptation for me.
