    FLL & BSW hybrid pilot

    Hello guys,

I was navigating on the web today and saw that very unusual pilot badge on Germanwarbooty last update. As far I am concern the wreath is a good tomback FLL with the block hinge and the eagle look a good BSW eagle as well. The rivets are nothing from these two makers but are very well done and as far as we know BSW and FLL don't really had any ties. Perhaps someone assembled that pilot from 2 broken badges. I find it very interesting and i like the result...

    What your thought?

That's a heavily messed with Frankenstein. As noted, the eagle is BSW, but is oxidized or blackened in a way that BSW never finished their eagles. And the wreath and hardware are original FLL all the way, but the rivets are done better than any rivetting Linden's shop was capable of. My guess is that some clever fellow created this badge postwar as a little workshop venture using the wartime components he had on hand from two damaged badges. Another possibility is that the job was done during wartime by a fixer upper. We'll never know who, when or why these parts got cobbled together.

        Hi Seb,

A Frankenstein for me as well. Rivets are neither BSW nor FLL, and given the really worn condition of the FLL wreath/hardware, I would say that this one was put together from different parts, most likely postwar. For sure not an FLL or BSW product IMO.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little
