                Hi Uwe,

Its a nice original, later-war Transporter clasp. Likely made by Juncker.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

As Tom indicated a Luftwaffe Transport/Glider Clasp. Awarded in 3 grades Bronze, Silver and Gold to members of a Transport/Glider aircrew (not just the pilot) for completion of a certain number of missions (20, 60 and 100 missions/flights) .

Hi Gary, thank you for the specific information.
What could be the manufacturer of this specimen?

                    Uwe

The manufacturer of this clasp and many others are currently unknown, but based on hardware and some other characteristics this clasp has been attributed to the Juncker manufacturing firm.

It is a late war zinc piece.

An interesting clasp. Is it zinc with a nickel-silver eagle? Maybe just my eyes but the fittings are for a zincer but the clasp looks like buntmetall. Maybe it has just retained a great finish?

                          Best wishes

Zinc clasp with nickel silver eagle in my opinion. Still nice transport/glider clasp attributed to Juncker firm.
