Osang LW ground assault for review

    Hello again fellas
I was ofered this badge this evening I would have bit right away but the catch and hinge are quite a bit different than the example that Lorenzo has on his site. Is this a Varient or is this just wrong I have no expirience with this maker on this badge.

    Thanks again Fellas

As you have already figured out, the catch and the hinge/pin are totally wrong for this badge. Not even close. However, it is not uncommon for these hinges to break off, I personally have seen 2 that way.

I spent a good 10 minutes comparing your badge and mine, and except for the hardware, I can find nothing that would make me think your badge was fake.

Why your badge has this gear on it, I cant say, but to me the badge seems to be real.

        Thanks Mr.Schroeder

I agree with you but would'nt I see ( if the catch had been replaced) some soldering marks or something I like you cant find a thing wrong with the front or the maker mark. but that hinge and catch bug me. the guy wants $220.00 for it if it were 1/2 that I would go for it and pray.
        Thanks again for the help

I think for that kind of money, let the next guy have it.

I dont know what to say about the catch. Maybe they burned the solder off when that attached the new one?

            Dear Jerry,

I would also say definitely a repair with a replacement hinge and catch. I think the area around the hinge even shows that on the pic.

But the most important point here is, like Mark correctly said, even if this badge is real, the price is not "real". I would hardly pay that for a textbook Osang Erdkampfabzeichen, more in the 180 USD area for a doubtless untouched one.

            Cheers, Frank H.
