I´m new here and I´m thinking about buying a Beobachter Abzeichen made by Assmann.
What is your opinion about this piece? I´m not quite sure if it is original.

Firstly, welcome to the forum, you certainly found the right place if you are into badges like this. Best resource on the internet.

The observer you post is a common fake unfortunately. I would suggest becoming an Association Member here at WAF, you will have access to the best online database of original Luftwaffe badges and you can see many differences from the one you post.

Good luck and as always, be sure to post any badge you are looking at buying BEFORE you pull the trigger and send money to someone. The fakes are very good in this hobby and there are plenty more out there than originals.

I just became an Association Member, because the database and posts are a very welcomed help for a newbie collector like me.

Unfortunately I already bought some pieces that turned out to be fake, so I will always ask for the help of the veterans in this forum first.
