    Very very rare case and set, but one question - why does that badge have a gold color to the wreath?? Was it painted or maybe lacquered??

      Hi George,

      thanks for the reply.
      I believe the badge has many of the original finish preserved.
      I believe the 'gold' look comes from the patina that is developing over the finish.
      Can't come up with another explanation...
      The Juncker gliders also received a slightly different finish than the pilot or observer for example.
      I have never seen a glider with a fully frosted finish like you see on other Juncker badges in mint condition.
      There are more gliders like this that have this 'golden' look.
