    Luft. Radio Op./Gunner Badge Value?

What is the Going value of a GH Osang Dresdin Radio Operator/Gunner Badge. I have a pic if you want to let me E-mail it to ya. Thanks.

GH Osang never made air gunner badges, so value would be that of a curiousity peice, or copy.

Accidentally offending people on the internet since 1997

      Who Made It?

Mark is right here - Osang did not make these Qualification Badges at all. I would be interested in viewing pics - I have been aware of many Repro badges recently which bear the Osang hallmark.

Would this be East German or maybe postwar by said company? Who would make this badge?

The makers of this badge are obviously thieves. Trying to take money from unsuspecting people......fraudulently!moremad

              Bonn,

What do you mean with East German? The GDR never made versions of Third Reich badges.

And with a swastika it is certainly not an official post 1957 BRD piece either.

Munich, let me rephrase. I have seen that badges w/Ges.Gesch (Pat. Pend.) were generally made by Eastern European firms making reproduction period badges. Just wondered if a legitimate company that made other period badges' maker mark was evident yet it was definitely not period, then maybe East German or European either under post war license or not would make the piece. I am very ignorant as to the laws in Europe about licenses and patents. Especially East vs. West agreements. Please excuse my terminology. Thanks, Bonn

                    Hi Bonn,
See how valuable this forum is to everyone?! Well worth the $20 to become an Association Member, huh! I feel sorry for the person who was duped into buying that repro! It was a half way decent looking repro IMO, but having that knowledge of Osang not producing these types of Qualification Badges is critical when trying to make a purchase such as the one we've discussed.

I know how it feels to get duped. Unfortunately, or may a good tactical move by the seller, the bidding was private so I couldn't warn the high bidder. I definately would have done it Had I known how. Trust me, I would have loved someone to have told me about my Fallschirmjager badge before I downed 140 into a learning experience. Thanks to everyone. Bonn Stevens.
