    FJ Osang para?

I received one qualified response on this Osang para badge in the FJ Forum but was hoping for some additional vetting comments. Perhaps members of this forum can add to it.

    STATS: 52.45mm Height; 42.20 Width

    Much obliged!

        Hi Tony,

Osangs aren't my strong point but this thing, especially the eagle, looks like a Juncker (notched swas is still evident, as is the cut into the forward talon - not Osang traits as far as I know). Neither the wreath nor eagle appear to be zinc. Super fat pin, eagle at a strange angle - no, this one is not for me - probably a good repro. Reading over Gerd's comment on the FJ Forum, I'd agree with his summary.

Honestly, I don´t know if we are on the right track if we dismiss this badge without some further thinking. Of course, granted, in no way does it conform with known original Osang paras.

But here is the interesting part:

-the wreath does not resemble that of the unknown maker, it IS the one of the unknown maker´s para badge (see my first badge posted)

-I do not agree that this badge looks like Tombak or modern Buntmetall, it looks absolutely like a zinc badge to me, especially on the worn leaves.

-an unknown maker pilot badge had been found with the SAME Osang mark. That badge itself is 100% ok. (see second badge posted, from BobD)

-Gerd says there are more badge like the one in question marked with different maker marks. I have not found one fake para in my files, Osang or not, which uses the unknown maker´s wreath. Gerd, do you have pics?

-it looks like a parts badge, unknown maker wreath, Juncker eagle, Osang setup with an Osang mark which MIGHT be another valid Osang mark. I stress MIGHT be.

Maybe we are missing something interesting here, I am not yet convinced this strange badge is a fake.

                      Hi Guys,

Very interesting. I'm not at home right now and can't consult my files but wasn't it militarybuyer, John, who once posted a buntmetall "doppelabzeichen" by the unknown maker with classic set-up and the Osang maker mark. Skip if I'm not mistaken you were the one who bought it.

Yes, it was me Phil, but it was´nt buntmetal it was zinc.

Although Frank is quiet correct that that is the wreath of the unknown maker what is a Juncker type eagle doing on it?
The setup is classic Osang but the rivets look like some of the GWL Paras.

I personally do not like it, to many anomalies for my liking. Might have been put togeather from parts, which would explain the rivets.
