The lack of pictorial evidence or paperwork establishing the badge or the fact that none have been found in veterans groups does not condemn the badge in and of itself. .
I agree, but this counts for every fake, so it's not a strong point IMO

BTW, OM badge has been located in era pics ..

Yes Jos, I like that, 100% of all fakes have not been found in pre-May 1945 pictures.

Understood reference the OM pilot badge. My point was that OM badges were thought to be fake for some time. Same with the Deutschbein pilot badges.

Just because there are no pictures of something in wear does not mean they did not exist. There are no pictures of cloth wound badges (but there is a document discussing them as "stand ins" until metal badges can be produced and issued), Sniper badge patches or higher grade KM Small Combat Unit awards and yet many/most believe these badges are pre 45 manufactured and were awarded.

Juncker re-opened sometime after the war (and eventually was a maker of the Bundesverdienstkreuz). Does anyone know of any postwar activity by Juncker in the manufacture (or assembly from existing parts, if such parts existed after its wartime facility was destroyed) of TR pieces? Tom Durante's analysis of these pieces as being of Juncker manufacture is very compelling.

My badge has been pictured and discussed in several different threads in this section and is one that is constructed of Junker parts/methods. I obtained it in a trade.

My postings are to just state that as of now these badges will remain in a gray area for collectors and to refute the many speculative theories around these pieces. They are what they are. Guessing that they are Juncker prototype pieces, post war pieces assembled for the GI market, badges for British pilots flying German aircraft, jet pilot badges, women pilot badges is all speculations.

I am making no statement on pre or post 45 construction. Of the types that have been viewed/discussed the badge that I have is considered to have the best possibility of being pre 45.

                Gary,
How does this badge compare to yours as far as construction, parts etc

It's a wonder one of these didn't turn up in the Luckenwald hoard.

Jim, your example is not one I would consider a "possible" wartime example. For me its a clear postwar fake, not compatible with Juncker production.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                      Jim,

As Tom noted, the one you posted does not conform to the badge that some consider of having the "best chance" of being of pre-45 manufacture.

Some of the characteristics to look for on these possible pre-45 Juncker Round Wreaths are: 1) Striations on the hinge 2) flat top rivets and 3) what appears to be a small catch plate/circular outline under the catch.

I would like someone to explain to me some information regarding this "Juncker" eagle. Please explain to me why this is a genuine Juncker eagle. Thank you.

So J3 eagle? Would you say a "die" strike? It looks like a bad cast. Does one exist that is sharp and distinct and clearly looks die struck?

Look how crisp this zink Juncker J3 is. Why wouldn't the round pilot be crisp? Why are they all so muddled?
