    JG 26 pilot's badge --> your opinion?

    Hello,

    I recently bought some documents and the pilot badge of a former JG 26 pilot. While I am quite familiar with documents, I don't know much about badges. What are your thoughts on this one?

    Thanks,

    Roger

      Fake?

      Are you sure? The logbook that came with it was 100% original and covered his career until almost the end of the war. The pilot is also documented in various JG 26 books. Could it be a postwar copy that he bought after the war?

        So, based on the BSW or Deutschbein PB fake

                Would still like to hear about the logbuch and any details on the pilot.

                  In this hobby, you can never buy the story, and never buy the package of the grouping and the story without scrutinizing every component. The badge itself must stand up to scrutiny. Unfortunately yours doesn't. It is, as the guys have all noted, decidedly a postwar copy. This badge is a known fake and consists of a cast copy of the BSW eagle stamped with a bogus Juncker maker mark. Many things are wrong with the badge. The badge cannot be anything the JG26 pilot ever touched.

                    Agreed, common fake unfortunately. JJS' comments are also sadly accurate, vet stories mean very little these days.

                      Agree with the others. Never buy the story!
