        Hi Peter,

Looks very good to me as well, I like the tight swastika and the thread and backing all look correct. I also really like the look of the paper on the reverse, I think it would be very hard to fake that old, dried-out look IMO.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

All looks good to me as well. I agree with Tom that the stitching looks nice and tight, as we would expect on originals.

Very sharp, I like it. Both patches are beautiful.

I believe that the wreath is not correct when compared to the ones I have owned and seen. The left and right side of the wreath should show a different construction to reflect the oak leaves and the laurel leaves on opposite sides of the wreath. This example show the same leaf structure throughout the entire wreath. This does no corresspnod to known examples. I don't like it.

If this is correct then both the examples shown are fakes. Perhaps we need to add some other examples for comparison. Can you show one you consider to be genuine? It would be most informative to the discussion as bullion badges are notoriously tricky.

Partition wreath on oak leaves and bay leaves is clearly visible in the machine-embroidered badges. However, in the bullion badges this is no longer so obvious.
For example, my bullion badge PO.
