He was killed in action (KIA) 3 feb 1943 when crashed in his E-1 in the netherland.

Sometimes the date specifications on these internet pages are not 100% correct researched or available!

Hi!
I want to show you some new info regarding Fritz.

Below are two pages from different sites.
Got the DKG same dates so it must be the same guy.
Not sure how trustworthy the dates are though.. It says promoted to Hptm 1st of sep but on the other page it says date of death 11th feb same year..?
More investigation needed. Are there any books out there telling more detailed and accurate info?

Sorry but wrong Fritz Hahn

Sorry to disappoint you but this Fritz Hahn isn't your guy.

From the date on the EP - your Hahn is listed in the Ehrenliste for 31 Aug 1942 as - Oberleutnant Fritz Hahn Bordfunker in eine Kampfgeschwader.

(I was going to attach copy of the 31 Aug 42 Ehrenliste here but haven't figured out how to include attachments)

At that stage of the war, the Ehrenliste were a list of awards that were made the week or two before the Ehrenliste publishing date (by 1944 the publishing of the lists had became less regular thus several awards listed were awarded months earlier) Anyway, the date on the EP is in line with others that I have found for that same Ehrenliste such as:

Ofw Ernst Rohde 20 Aug 42
Fw Fritz Neumuller 22 aug 42
Ogfr Artur Schilz 20 Aug 42
Ltn Walter Zellot 24 Aug 42

Therefore your guy is a Bomber Bordfunker not a Reconnaissance Beobachter and does not appear in the DKG list like the other Fritz Hahn. (The reconnaissance Fritz Hahn would have got his EP awarded around 22 Feb 43 to be listed in the Ehrenliste for 1 Mar 43)

Unfortunately I haven't found a Hahn that matches in the bomber forces yet.

Yes I have done some research myself and found out that it was the wrong Fritz.
As you said my EP is for a bordfunker in kampgeschwader.
I have informed the responsible ones for the webpage.
Is it possible to find out more you think? Units etc?
