    Osang Ground combat badges

    Hello All,

Has anyone got pics of an Osang Luftwaffe ground combat badge they could post or direct me to please??
I`ve got the chance to buy one but I`d like to gather as much info on this makers badges as possible before I make my decision.

    Thanks in advance,
    Adrian

the reverse. Notice the solder burn around the catch. This is typical for this maker, and is something to look for.

                    Osang on the LEFT

Erdkampf on the Left is a G.H. Osang, the one on the right is a Gustav Brehmer that I am listing on the E-stand...

It is interesting to notice that there seem to be at least two ways to colour the lightning among the Osangs pictured. Dave´s, Mark´s and mine have the dark grey colour of the lightning applied AFTER the silver wash was applied. Gene´s badge shows that the silver outline of the lightning was applied AFTER the flash and rocks were coloured dark grey. This is done in a somewhat sloppy way.

The METAL borders of the lightnings are very sharp and strictly 90 degree angled on Dave´s, Mark´s and my example and a bit varying from sharp to more rounded on Gene´s badge. Anyone notice that too?

                      Cheers, Frank H.

                          Dear Gene,

Have you ever read this? Any chance that badge is repainted?

                          Cheers, Frank H.

Nope, not repainted. It's just like it was as it rolled off Osang's assembly line!

                              Hello Frank,

Studying Genes badge my first impression was that, as you say, the silver wash on the lightning has been applied after the grey.
However, looking at the eagle and the cloud, I thought the grey colour on the cloud had been applied after the silver wash on the eagle because of the "brush strokes" on the beak and the tail, but looking under the wings where they cross the wreath, you can see the grey underneath.
So why didn`t whoever painted (or repainted) do the job properly and dab some silver wash under the wings???
Beats me, but an interesting point you raise!

                              Best regards,
                              Adrian.
