I must disagree on one of the GPB that is shown here =>Prosper the one that you show is certainly not a typical GPB produced by the famous firm of Juncker / Berlin.
Have a look in the appropriate section of this asso. ( Glider PIlots badge ) and compare the there shown unmarked Juncker badge ( eagle, wreath, rivets, etc .. etc .. ) with the one that you are showing , the differences ( different eagle , different rivets, etc .. ) are just to much to accept this badge IMHO as original .
Just my humble opinion ,

The eagle on Gene's GPB looks rather like mine. And both eagles look quite like the Deumer eagle, as a glance at Ivan's images shows.
We know that manufacturers supplied components to one another for various reasons and, in some cases, finished medals and badges. The 1939 EK1s by Godet and Zimmermann are an example. And we have seen LW flight badges with a wreath from one maker and an eagle from another. I believe that this has been discussed in the past.
Of course, that doesn't make my Glider Pilot Badge original. If it turns out to be a fake, I'll take it on the chin. But I know a couple of pretty serious collectors who a members here who will be similarly disappointed because they have identical GPBs to the one I showed...wear and tear apart. Same wreaths, same eagles, same details, same dies.
Oh well...if we're in for an almighty row over fake Glider Pilot Badges - cos at least one of the collectors I know frequents a certain popular dealer and probably got his GPB there - at least it'll make a change from the Army Para Badge.

Many thanks to all for their scans and their opinions. I've found a site in Canada where a dealer is selling a glider badge that has a pin and catch assembly similar to mine. If anyone has any further comments on my particular badge?

Thanks, Prosper and everyone else for sharing thier information. I more or less shared the same thoughts as Prosper. My major concern was the hinge and catch assembly, my GPB is the same as Gene's as I stated earlier. I think that you guys covered it pretty much. This is one of those badges I'm glad to have behind me in the sense that they are one of the more difficult originals to purchase, as well as exspensive, not to mention the high level of suspicions associated with the Makers as well as the variants.
Thanks

Joe,
There will always be supicions as to which badge is fake. I posted pics of my glider badge a while back and someone gave it the dreaded "I'm not saying it's fake. . ." opinion. Privately I was emailed by several people who, like me, have no doubts about it's authenticity.WAF LIFE COACH

Hi Gene, well most of my concerns were laid aside in that; I only buy my medals from a couple of reputable dealers. My GPB came from one of my most trusted sources. I could not find a Junkers that I really felt good about, so I went for this one. You just do not see original ones that often and I did not want to miss my chance. Once, I had it in my hand I felt confident I had a good unmarked original. I would say that mine is a war time piece Actually I just received it two days ago and haven’t really had the chance to give it a good going over, but at a glance it appears to original.
Thanks
