    Glider Qualification Badge

Does anyone have any idea as to which firm produced this late war medal? It appears that both pieces were in war metal, with the back of the wreath uneven and not well finished.
    Thanks,
    Steve

      Hi Steve

I also use geocities to present my collection. The better way for use this site to publish your picture with this site, is trying to use a html page which included your image. If you just shown the image url. The geocities will request for the login each time per machine. HTML page will not have this login request. So included your image into the HTML page and publish the HTML's URL.

      Here is my example:

Hi Steve, I looked at your scans. I believe that Junkers was the only firm that produced this badge marked and unmarked in the early variation. As far as your example goes I question the the authenticity. The detailing seems a little off as well as the coloring, this just might just be do to the scans. Also the medal appears to be too thin as well as the beek on the eagle is wrong. I have a Junkers that I will post to this thread for referance as time allows. Do you own this badge or are you looking to buy it? Looks like a bad copy, not a late war variant. IMO.
            Thanks
            Joe

              correction

              Hello,

Wel it seems that this thread is devided into two seperate forums , i have commented on the other forum ( general ) , => for Joseph , it is not correct that Junckers was the only firm involved in the production of this rare badge .

The Firm of Junckers was certainly not the only one to produce such badges ( it is true that they produced the marked & unmarked badge as probably also the large eagle variant ) , another manufacture that can be found is BSW ( Bruder schneider / Wien ) , they also produced a marked and unmarked piece !!! , there where probably also other producers involved but there is no proof at this moment for this

Thanks Steve I never saw a BSW LW Gliders badge, or any of the other Makers, your right I double checked the Maker list and their is about four, But I have to be honest I hope that somebody can post some examples other than Junkers.
                Thanks

Here's an early, near-mint Glider Pilot Badge by C E Juncker. By the way, W Deumer of Ludenscheid also made GPBs.

                            i disagree on one badge

                            Hello,

I must disagree on one of the GPB that is shown here =>Prosper the one that you show is certainly not a typical GPB produced by the famous firm of Juncker / Berlin.

Have a look in the appropriate section of this asso. ( Glider PIlots badge ) and compare the there shown unmarked Juncker badge ( eagle, wreath, rivets, etc .. etc .. ) with the one that you are showing , the differences ( different eagle , different rivets, etc .. ) are just to much to accept this badge IMHO as original .

                            Just my humble opinion ,
