As the only award that bore the recipients name, I view the Goblet as a real piece of history. WW2 German medals and awards are great and many are very attractive but a collector can very rarely be sure of their association with a given individual. With the Goblet of Honour you know who received it without any doubt. I think they are largely under-appreciated and yours is a very nice example. I hope you can obtain photos and information regarding the recipient in due course.

I wonder how many enemy missions an air gunner in a recon squadron would have to complete to get a goblet?
TMC....how many did your dude in 3.(F)122 have?

In my airgunner grouping of 1.(F)/123 Ofw.Stratmann got the gold clasp with 112 missions at Sept.19.1942 and the honor goblet with 119 missions at Oct.20.1942.

for reconnaissance Crews a flight longer than 240 minutes counted 2 enemy missions. This must be the reason your LW-Soldier got the Gold clasp with 94 (needed 110 missions) missions and Pendant with 229 missions (needed 250 missions).

Unbelievable condition , a lot of Alpaka honor goblets have been ruined by over-cleaning which removed the silver plating.

Hi Dr Lemans. I will go through the log books in more detail and check. Other log books I have are marked x2 or x3 if they score extra but I don' t think that is the case with this man.

Taking into account the double scores used to calculate qualifying Fiendfluge over 240 minutes, awards arrived to the pilot of 5.(F)/122 as follows:
