ROAG Deumer, black paint on wreath

That make no sens Tom, why painting the wreath on top of the silver finish? The only purpose I can think of is to protect it but against what? At the rate they were awarding these thing they didnt stay long in the drawer. I think the lacquer turning black like BNL could be a good lead.
