        we think this type of RK is a fake because we have seen masses for these for sale at well known fake merchants. You can also find loads of them at any show or market. The original type of these is very rare and hard to find.
        The eagle is also only a quick pointer, in fact the hinge, rivets and hook are also not correct.
        Don´t be to annoyed a lot of people have fallen for this one.
        Any chance of returning it to the seller?

          i am afraid this badge is viewed as a reproduction...it is a very scary fake....
          check out my ground assault site and see a comparisson....hopefully you can return it...

              How do you know for sure it's original?
              With just one look: compare the eagle´s beak on the fakes and originals. Originals have an ugly "fish hook nose", the fakes have a nicely dsigned eagle´s head.

                    besides the beak the cutouts of the badge are not the same as on an original...the metal is not correct either......
                    when the badge in viewed from the reverse look at the cutouts for the ground ....on a real one the cutout on the left side is wider than on the fake....and as far as the beak goes it is not the big hook nose on the bird ......once you know what to look at you can not be fooled by this one...

                      I also had a fake RK Erdkampfabzeichen as well --- it was a beauty. Thanks to this Forum, I discovered it was bad and returned it to the seller (also a member of this Forum) who learned something along with me.

                          Here is a comparison of a real RK GCB on the left ,and a fake on the right.
                          The fake GCB has a "fresh, machined" appearance as compared to the authentic badge. Notice all the different comparison points as mentioned above.

                              I got stung on one of these at the MAXshow the second last year it was in Pittsburgh .After that bad experience I studied them and with the help of Mike's site and some other helpful collectors bought a good one the following year at the Max. There were only two at the Maxshow that year that were good that I could find. There were lots of the bad ones to be had and they are extremely well made as you all have seen.
