Post war S&L piece. Stamp is a forgery attempt to make the piece more enticing to potential buyers.

                    Hi Guys

I hardly ever post on the WAF being a member of the "black sheep" club. But I just had to respond to this thread. According to Mr Turk and Mr Niemann this type of glider badge is an authentic WW2 item. Meanwhile the boys here on the WAF have concluded they are post war types. I'm not agreeing with either side but I would just like to know the honest truth. I know I must keep in mind that Mr Turk and Mr Miemann are highly respected members of the collectors world. And I also must remember that many members of the WAF are very knowledgeable. I'm sure I know what answer I'll receive here.

I also know my reply Is being proof read by one member who won't let me make a mistake. To that member, please let me know the mistakes I've made and I will try to correct them.

I don´t think that Niemann is very much respected here anymore, to be honest.
This badge has absolutely no chance of being war time produced.
I once had a Luftwaffe Panzerkampfabzeichen in Silber, marked B&N L, showing every single characteristic found on this glider badge. The old collector, that I bought it from, also had the same badge, but in black, marked L/56. The badges were identical, except the colour of the wreaths.
                      Conclusions?

Agree the proof is in the hardware and the application of it. To me post war S&L. TPK
