      Very unusual pendant construction, but this is not the only one I have seen!

                            Are you being serious? It is not a typical attachment and could be done by anyone with a few pieces of copper wire and solder. The onus would be on you to prove it was wartime done. I wouldn't believe it was wartime for done for one second.

                              Well, your "logic" is just the other way round, IMO. Do you make an arrangement like this, if you are trying to fool someone? DonĀ“t you look at "textbook" clasps and try to imitate?
                              This is obviously done by someone who had all the "rights" on his side!
                              Ever heard of "field made"?
