    Hi Richard,

    Its the typical JMME maker mark, I think there must be a scratch or something making an optical illusion.

    Dale, like Seb I too would go for the Assmann, much rarer and its in better condition than the IMME. You can then send it to me to include in the clasp book if you like

      Yep, the JMME is much clearer in hand than my poor photographs show.

      Tom,
      The Assmann will definitely go into my collection. I'll be glad to send it to you to put in the book if it's not a big hurry as it'll take a few weeks to get things settled with the executor. Between writing books and moderating this forum, I know you have nothing to do and won't mind shooting me a PM in a few weeks to remind me to get the clasp to you, right?

        No problem at all Dale, will be sure to squeeze it in between moderating and book writing, not to mention my full time job and raising 3 kids too
