The bronze one is a very nice assmann.

Thanks Seb. I had to do a search to be sure which one you were referring to. It surprised me that it was the one with the blackened eagle as i had never seen one like that before and thought it might be a repro. But then again clasps are definitely not my strong point.

Dale, all the last ones you show are good IMO, with the exception of the pendant clasp, that one is a common fake.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Thanks Tom, I posted it for Ludwig to look at as he seemed to like it. My photos may not show it too well, but in hand the material just doesn't look right to me.

I'm probably going to add the Assmann to the short list of things from the collection that I want to buy since it seems to be the nicest of the three and the hardest to find. I would like to have a representative recon clasp in the collection, and guess a hard to find one would be even better. Can anyone give me an idea on price?

Gee, are you sure? Guess so... I thought it looked good, but yes, the edges are perhaps a little bit too sharp.
Guess that´s the negative side of not keeping a fake archive, but it would just grow too large!

                      100% sure Ludwig.

                        Hello,
Wrapping up all the items from this estate before returning them to the executor. I'm looking to buy one of these recon clasps for myself, either the Assmann shown in this thread or the Imme silver claps I posted in this thread - http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=796662. I am not a clasp collector per se, but would like to have one as a representative piece for my collection. Since I can't afford to buy both, could I get your opinions as which would be the best one to buy. I know this is subjective, but wanted to just see which one (or even one of the other two posted here) you would buy for yourself.
                        Thank you,
                        Dale
