    Ground Assault Badge marked R.K.

Hello all.. this is my first Ground Assault Badge. I wanted to run it past the forum. It is marked R.K. which I believe is Rudolf Karneth. I have also been told this is one of the better maker of the GAB?

    Any comments appreciated..

    Thank you, Scott

Thank you for the fast response Ludwig... Does this one look good to you? I noticed some pitting on the back but it doesnt appear cast...It is interesting how it appears in the picture but not in the hand... I also think the R.K. is Rudolf Karneth & Sohne...

      Thank you,
      Scott

        Hi Scott,

Looks like a nice R.K. that was probably factory-modified with a soldered hinge as opposed to the typical crimped configuration. The grinder tool marks are very evident at the top reverse of the badge, so the hinge crimps were probably ground off and the hinge was soldered in place.

Check the following thread for more examples of this.

        Best regards,
