    FLL Pilot, question

    Dear all

it looks weird that the hinge pin is a bit longer then the hinge itself.

is that normal for a FLL pilot? a replacement pin?

    thanks

Could be a poor trimming job on the original hinge pin. Could certainly be a replacement hinge pin though. Not normal in any case.

Not an expert, but looks okay to me. I'd be fine with it based on these pics.

FLL's workmanship was often sloppy. Especially sloppy was their rivet work. It would therefore not surprise me to see pilot badges coming out of the FLL factory with an original pin like that. By the same token, it is possible that it is a replacement pin. But the badge is otherwise an original FLL from top to bottom, and if I were looking to buy an FLL pilot, that pin would not stop me from buying your badge.

it looks good to me as well, based on the color shade between every part.
just not 100% sure if FLL not cut the longer end.
