    Best book for Pilot's Badge?

What is the best reference book for Pilot's Badge?

    Thanks!

I do not believe there is yet a comprehensive book on the Pilot's Badge. Previtera in his 'Combat Badges of the Third Reich volume 2' shows a few different types but is by no means comprehensive. If you want guidance on authenticity your best bet is here on WAF; either via the various threads or using the database of original badges pinned to the top of this forum.

      Hi Joda,

I agree with Tim 100%, Privetara's book is good and will give you a nice overview of all Luftwaffe badges. But if you are looking for a comprehensive guide, then the WAF's database is your best bet, best and most comprehensive database on the internet and is being continually updated with any new discoveries. And for only $25, its a no brainer

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

I agree with Tom. I like the Previtera book very much. Its treatment of pilot badges is excellent, but not 100% inclusive. I also like the article by Yuri Desyatnik in the Summer 2003 issue of Military Advisor (Volume 14, Number 3, pages 4-29. If you want a "hard" reference in hand, ie in print, these are the two best published references out there IMO. But this forum is, as noted, very comprehensive.
