Nice J-1 Wolf, photos w/o flash/bright light would assist in determining if cleaned, but as Alex said, looks like it may have been cleaned.

                  Gentlemen,

please have a look and possibly adjust your opinion ?

I haven't and the seller himself cannot recall any cleaning done either !

Please be so kind and help !

                  Thank you

                    Hello Wolf,

I would agree with the guys, looks like it was scrubbed with some abrasive detergent.

                    Regards,

                    Daniel

                        Hi Wolf,

No doubts for me either, definitely cleaned.

                            Hi Guys,

what I certainly do not agree with is when an expert calls the badge

having been 'cleaned' with an "abrasive detergent" .

(I had that confirmed by a chemist !)

As one can see the badge probably had been carefully 'cleaned' off

environmental substances (like: cigarette smoke etc ...) without damaging the

frosting layer ..... which is still - in parts - on the wreath !

That remaining layer is soaked with 'dirt' - impossible to 'clean' with hot water and soap ! - and thus is not shiny anymore !

As one can see only protruding parts of the leaves show the basic 'Nickel - Silver'

material ! (That might have been caused by a 'rubbing' 'safety belt' on board)

Thanks for your kind help while hoping that my approach to 'cleaning'

meets your philosophy as well !

Again, I had purchased the badge as is and never 'cleaned' it myself !

                            Best regards

                            Wolf
