Hi Greg,
Normally I wouldn't agree.
With collecting shields it is almost impossible to tell if the backing (cloth, plate, paper) is original or not.

However in this case the shield is a JFS. JFS is the marked on the back with a JFS 42 stamp. The shield you are selling doesn't have this typical backing and therefore I agree that the backing is most likely not original.
