    FJ Grouping Holland

    Hi Gents,
lucky day to lay my hands on a little grouping from a Para who earned his IC 2 in Scheveningen on May the 27. 1940. He put his Name on the backside of the badge and there is also a picture with him and his Girlfriend in Uniform.
    More pictures to come.

Nice grouping Sascha. Interesting to see the photo of him wearing his FJ badge. For security reasons I understand wearing the FJ badge was discouraged in 1940 but if German propaganda is to be believed the FJ badge worked wonders with the girls!

                    Hi Sascha,

Great grouping!! The badge as you probably already know is quite an uncommon variant, with 1st Pattern wreath and 2nd Pattern Eagle (Juncker Type B in the Para book). These were created as Juncker transitioned to the 2nd pattern badges, but still had some wreaths to use up. The timeframe of early 1940 is spot on for this type of badge IMO.

The document is also a nice, relatively early example when they were still using the control numbers at the bottom left (Type 3 document in the Para book, in use from early 1940 to the end of '41). The number and date correspond perfectly.

The para badge, document and timeframe all fit together nicely, always good to see this so that there is no question on the grouping.

                    Tom
If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                        Hi Tom,
thanks for the explanation on the badge. So I didn`t know because I had no time to look up your book yet.
Mr. Putin keeps me and "my ships" busy..... So not much time left for research these days.
                        Thanks
                        Regards
                        Sascha
