Early FLL P/O and a JMME Pilot badge.

The Fll is a good but a very wounded P/O badge, not sure about the JMME badge, it looks good but would like input, Thanks.

The pics don't show the gilt very well, but in hand there is no doubt.

                    Hi Van,

The FLL is a fine original, but it is a regular Pilot badge that has been cleaned. It is not a PO IMO.

I agree with the others on the JMME badge, its a copy of a Juncker wreath and weird eagle. Love the different color rivets too, just in time for Christmas

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                      Hi Van

Like Tom, I also think from these pictures that the FLL is an early Pilot Badge stripped down to the base metals. Whether this is to suggest it is a Pilot/Observer Badge or simply over-vigorous and ill-advised cleaning I would not like to guess. IMO this has not occurred just through wear but the badge has been artificially stripped of all finish. To me the lack of subsequent 'new' tarnish suggests it was done post war and possibly quite recently. Just my opinion and based on these photos. I can see what appears to be some of the gilt you mention, in the recesses, but I can't think why anyone would clean such a badge so rigorously it removed all the finish, unless it was a very inexperienced collector who treated his German awards like British medals and polished everything - I was one of those collectors 40 something years ago but luckily in hindsight most of my early badges turned out to be fakes (which I guess is why I could afford them then!).

As everyone else says, the JMME is a bad fake.
