Para Badge buying advice please

Hi everyone,
I'm thinking of buying a para badge, just come across a B&N L that looks quite good. Late war, apparently, wear to high points. The thing that does make me wonder, is that there is no gold on the rear of the eagle. Does this matter? Looking at a few on the Forum, they all seem to have at least some remains of gold.
Any advice on this, or buying para badges in general, would be greatly appreciated.
