Hi guys! I was asked to put this badge for discussion. The badge itself looks good but both rivets are messed up imo... All opinions are welcome!

I also like the finish of the badge. But what was the reason to tighten the rivets? The badge doesn't look much worn and Deumer aren't famous for having a loosing eagle...

I like as well, finish look OK. The rivets are tightened for sure, something we don't see often on Deumer.

Hi Alex
I have no answer to why the rivets were tightened unless the eagle was loosened somehow. If worn in an aircraft there were parachute and seat straps that might have got caught on the badge and caused this - but that is pure speculation. I cannot see anything else that worries me apart from those rivets.

Very well done if it's an upgraded pilot badge but that's what messed up rivets point to. Especially with Deumer, I think they had the most solid rivets of them all on their flight badges.
Alex, you might want to check the cut through the hinge cilinder. In these fine details you might see the real underlayer.Kind regards,

Hi Alex,
I am a bit skeptical too, especially with the messed with rivets, we just really never see "tighted" rivets on Deumer badges IMO. Is the hinge messed with as well, looks like it has a large-headed hingepin on one side? Also looks to have some gold finish on the central barrel of the pin, making me think that some of the gold finish is rubbing off onto the central barrel. Can you rub some finish off with your finger if you do it a couple times on the reverse?
TomIf it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a littleNew Book - The German Close Combat Clasp of World War II
