    Query on Flak Badge

Hi all, hope you can bare with me on this one as no pics. Recently i came across a Heers Flak badge,(no mm) detail to the front was good, pin metalic, eagle appeared fine, however when i looked at the tall barrel hinge it was void of any visible gaps. Pin was evident on one side only. I originally thought fake mainly because of what appeared to me to be some sort of filler in the hinge. I was then informed that the badge was real and this is the style. I have always used this idea as a rule of thumb when determining fakes and I'm now confused.I understand this is differcult but any help would be welcomed. Best regards

Hard to say without pictures. I would suggest doing a search for "army flak" here in the badges forum. You might also try http://lbmilitaria.homestead.com/index.html . I don't think you'll have any trouble finding an example for comparison if your's is a good one
